You are a clinical research professional or facilitator and you need the translation of an Informed Consent Form (ICF) into the language of a research participant:

We have experienced medical translators in many language pairs with a proven track record. Whenever possible, we use translators who are certified by the American Translator’s Association. We also test all our translators to insure quality. We provide the translation in Word format along with a PDF of the translation with a signed and notarized certificate of accuracy of the translation attached for IRB or other compliance purposes. We are proud to have Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai and Mt. Sinai Hospital as well as Columbia University Medical Center among our clients.

Our translations follow the same plain language guidelines that were used to write the original English informed consent form. More specifically, we follow guidelines for ICF translation (see http://www.languagescientific.com/language-services-blog/6-things-to-know-about-informed-consent-form-translations.html)

If you need an update of a translation we did for you, we charge only for the new words plus a small fee for deletions and handling.

We provide a quote in less than one hour. Your translation begins when you email us your approval of the quote.

Some sponsors require a back translation for an ICF (also called front to back translation). The English ICF is translated into the target language by one translator. A second translator is then given this ICF translated into the new language and he/she translates it back into English (without any contact with the original English document). The English back translation is then compared to the original English. The variations in wording may be surprisingly numerous but the meaning and the level of understandability must remain the same. A back translation is an added safeguard which allows a sponsor or compliance officer, who only speaks English, to verify the accuracy of the translation. We also translate accompanying documents such as Patient Diaries, Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) and Quality of Life (QoL) questionnaires. If you only have PDF files, that’s no problem as we have software to convert the PDF into an editable form for translation. We provide a document in the target language that mirrors the original English document.

You are a clinical research professional or facilitator and your need the translation of medical records into english for research or data-collection purposes

We organize our translators into communicating teams in the relevant language pairs and create glossaries that are continuously updated to insure quality. These glossaries include abbreviations used and are very helpful for the translators and insure accurate and consistent translations.
