TRANSLATION OF THE FRENCH CIVIL CODE IN ENGLISH
ONLINE BILINGUAL VERSION
Since 1999, the French Government has translated the major French codes into English and Spanish for publication on the website:
http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr.
In 2013-2014, the translations of the French Civil Code and the French Commercial Code in English and Spanish were updated.
This 2014 translation from French to English of the French Civil Code, bilingual version of David Gruning, Alain R. Levasseur, John Randy Trahan, Estelle Roy, was eagerly awaited by legal translators who had given up consulting the translation of Georges Rouhette and Anne Berton whose last update was in 2004.
This translation work was conducted in parallel with the English translation of civil law entries from the Vocabulaire juridique of Gérard Cornu, published under the title Dictionary of the Civil Code.
