You Need a Certified Translation of Grade Transcripts or Diplomas.
All translations must be complete, reproduce closely the layout of the original document and must be followed by an affidavit of accuracy [1_Clipping_glossary term] signed by the translator. These are the -requirements of the New York State Education Department (basically the same throughout the US). For a higher level of certification, our translations are signed by the translator before a notary public[link to 1_Clipping_glossary term_1] (notarized certification).

Applying to American Universities
Education in the United States is highly decentralized, and the federal government and Department of Education has no say either about the value, acceptance or rejection of education completed abroad. The evaluation of the credentials of international students is mostly done by credential evaluation services.
Applying to French Universities
In 2012, according to a study by UNESCO, three countries are the top destination of total mobile students: United States (hosting 18%), United Kingdom (11%) and France (7%). The need of translation of educational documents toward English and French languages continues to surge. Each country has its own educational system and, in spite of an important effort of harmonization initiated by the Bologna Process in Europe and the ongoing consultations between France and the US via the Fullbright Commission [1_Clipping_glossary term] the implementation of an equivalency system of diplomas and grades between the countries of the developed world is still very distant.
